We have one day left in 2014 and we are thrust into a New Year once again and hopefully a new way of living our lives! New Year’s resolutions rarely last, so I am submitting to you that instead of making a long list of resolutions, how about simply changing your perspective and the way you do things from day-to-day? It’s our daily routine that really makes the largest impact on our success or failure in life. It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-dayness of life. We all have a routine, but the difficult part is changing that routine to become better, more efficient, more effective in life!
I’ve heard it said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to do the same things over and over again in 2015. As you look back over the past year just jot down the things you would like to change in your life. The things you write down can be simple or complex, it’s up to you. Be determined to do things different!
I was recently reading a book by Gary Keller, “The One Thing.” The book is basically about finding the one thing that you can do that will make everything else easier or unneccessary in life. It’s about getting focused and getting rid of distractions that steal your time and energy. One of the most important things I took away from this book was the concept of getting everything you need to do that’s of any value done before 11:00am each day. Most of the time we procrastinate and do the things we don’t really want to do last, by then you are unmotivated and lacking in energy to accomplish anything great. Just think of the difference you could make in your life if you did everything of any importance before 11:00am! I am the one who procrastinated working out until the end of the day, and inevitably, I didn’t work out. You may have to get up earlier to accomplish the things that are important, but it will be worth it! How about prayer and reading the Bible? Most of us wait until the end of the day, and we end up skipping these important things all together. What if you got up 45 minutes earlier and worked out, read your Bible and prayed! What a difference that would make, and it only takes a decision to get up a little earlier.
Find out your passions and pursue them! Don’t let the things that held you back in 2014 hold you back in the New Year! Go for your goals, pursue your dreams. Break free from the mundane and choose to be a success. God has amazing things ahead for you. He wants to do a NEW thing in your life!

My goal is to inspire you NOT to make a resolution, but rather change the way you live your life from day-to-day! Get focused and start getting things accomplished. What would you like to change? What steps can you take to make it happen in 2015? Maybe you want to exercise everyday, choose to do it first, before you get distracted. Get passionate about being a better person in the New Year! Love more, forgive easily, decide to be less stressed, less uptight, let things go! Make new friends, let go of the people who pull you down. Let go of the negative thoughts and mindsets, and exchange them for positive, & encouraging ones instead.
