‘Tis The Season…

The sound of Christmas music playing on the radio, holiday cheer is in the air, presents, boxes and bows everywhere, it’s Christmas time! The Christmas lights are shimmering, this time of year always make you feel a bit magical… like anything is possible!

With all of the hustle and bustle to get ready for the big day it can be easy to forget the true meaning of Christmas all together. It’s really not about Santa, The North Pole, or even giving gifts to the ones you love.  ‘Tis the Season to remember Jesus – our Lord and Saviour!  Jesus made a way for mankind to be saved from sin and reunited with God.  It’s the most wonderful gift of all.  So, take time to remember the gift of eternal life that Jesus has given you during this Christmas Season.  You see, God has a list and He’s checking it twice, it’s not to see if you’ve been naughty or nice… but rather if you have made Jesus your Lord and Saviour.  It’s the most important decision you will ever make.

The Bible tells us this to us in Romans 10:9-10…

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Salvation is a free gift that God gives us! We just have to receive it.  If you’ve never asked God into your heart,I hope that as you read these words you will make that decision.  Simply confess with your mouth (out loud) that Jesus is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead – and you will be saved!

So, as the Christmas season continues on this month, remember Jesus! Make Him the center of your holiday season.  Spend time with the ones you love, let the past go, enter into the New Year with a fresh new perspective, and a new commitment to live your life for God with more passion than you have before.  Whatever it is that holds you back from being all God has for you to be- let it go! Move into 2013 free from all that held you back in 2012! Anything is possible! Just believe!

  1. Misty, good to hear from you again. I remember the MN winters. Thank you so much for liking “Catching a Big Story Wave” on Paper, Mud and Me.
I’m throwing this in here for the season.
A story is told about three prospectors who found a rich vein of gold in California during the gold rush days. They realized what a great dis-covery they had and knew that it was a really good thing. Knowing that others would soon want to get in on their discovery they agreed, and made a vow, to keep it a secret. After making sure they could properly identify the site they headed for town to file their claim and get the equipment necessary to mine the gold.
They were all true to their vows, they didn’t say a word to anybody. They filed their claim, bought the equipment, and headed back to their mine. As they headed back they realized that a large crowd of people was following them. They all swore that they hadn’t told anyone and that was the truth.
The reason the crowd followed them was because the expression on their faces had given them away. Their faces were aglow with excitement and anticipation of the wealth that soon would be theirs. People knew that they must have found something very special. So a crowd followed them out of town.
At this season does our face, our demeanor, or attitude show the joy that should be ours in Jesus, or do we fall into the world’s way and just show the stress, frustrations and anxiety?
