“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek, inquire for, and [insistently] require: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord [in His presence] all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty [the sweet attractiveness and the delightful loveliness] of the Lord and to meditate, consider, and inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27:4 The Amplified Bible
This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. We are all seeking something. Every day you wake up, you are seeking something. We all seek money, that’s why we show up to work. We seek love, that’s why we long for companionship. We seek friendships and validation, that’s why we check our Facebook status 100 times a day :). Sorry, I had to throw that one in there. The point is, we are seeking things every day. It can be material possessions: like the iPhone 5, the latest iPad, or some awesome shirt you just saw at the mall. And it is totally OK to want things in life. My questions to you is, are you seeking God more than you are seeking all those other things? HE needs to be # 1. If your answer is no, I want to stir you up today to begin to seek God first. Like the verse above says, require HIM insistently. That means you can’t go a day without talking to the Lord. You have to have your time with HIM. It’s in the presence of God that all of our needs are met. One touch from God can change your life forever! The problem is, most of us don’t take the time to stop and get quiet in the presence of God. Our world is spinning so fast, and we are all pulled in so many directions. But it is in the quiet times that God heals us, restores us, makes us whole from things of the past, sets us free and makes us strong in HIM! There is so much more in store for those who will seek the Lord!
Go after God today with all your heart, with all your soul and all your mind! Seek Him first and you will see that everything in life you need will fall into place for you! Put God first on your “To Do List.”
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33
