Seasons of Change

Summer is pretty much over, and Fall is on the way.  The first, official day of Fall is September, 22.  Living in Minnesota makes you truly enjoy every season.  I look forward to visiting the local apple orchard,  eating apple crisp, drinking hot apple cider, pumpkin patches and sitting around the bonfire.  The leaves  begin to change colors and the landscape is a beautiful array of gold & red.  There is a crisp coolness in the air.  Ah, Fall is almost here!

Sometimes we need a new season of change in our spiritual life.  We all go through seasons where we feel dry, useless, and like we need a breakthrough?  Change is good.  It gives us a fresh new outlook on life, work, friends and family.  When I am feeling like I need a change, I always begin with my time with God.  Ask yourself if you are taking time out of your day to get in a quiet place with God.  Prayer and Bible reading can change your perspective like nothing else can!  The great thing about seeking God, is you WILL find Him!

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

There is something about getting with God that refreshes you.  You feel alive again, new again, and like you can face the world with a new fervor.  When we take time to reflect on all the good things that God has given us, it changes our attitude.  It’s easy to get down and negative when things are tough.  Some days we have to remind ourselves of the good things God has done!  You might not like your current job, but thank God you have one and find something to be positive about at work.  You might be single, and you want nothing more than to find the man of your dreams.  While you wait, decide to enjoy being single today and make the most of it.  One day, you will find “Mr. Right,” and you will never be single again… make the most of where you’re at on the way to where you’re going.  You may be going through a rough place in life today.  Realize that, “This too shall pass.”  Nothing ever stays the same.  Let’s face it, things are constantly changing.  Place your hope and trust in God today.  God will never change! Have a renewed hope that something good is about to come your way!  God has a plan for you!  He has not forgotten you.  He hears your cry!  He loves you and He will not fail you!  Don’t give up!

Let me leave you with this:  Embrace the change in your life, just like the seasons.  Find the good in it!  Focus on the things you enjoy about this season in your life, and embrace the changes ahead with a positive outlook!
