God’s Promises Never Expire

We all have food in the fridge that is way past the expiration date. Just the other day I Imagewent through all of the salad dressing in the side door of my fridg and I actually found a bottle that had expired in 2007.  That means this bottle had been in my fridg for 5 years! Don’t judge, if you go look right now you will find the same thing.  We’ve all got things in our lives that are way past the expiration date, so to speak.  We’ve all felt like there is no hope at times, like the promises of God have expired.  You may have prayed for a certain situation for a long time, and nothing seems to be changing. It’s past due.

Abraham and Sarah had to face this same problem.  Hebrews 11:11  says, “By Faith even Sarah herself, when she was barren, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she considered that the One who had promised was faithful.”

The Bible says that Abraham was as good as dead.  That’s sounds like his ability to have children had pretty much expired.  Sarah had already gone through the change of life, but God had given her a promise! God’s promises never expire!!!  That’s great news.  The Bible says “By FAITH Sarah received strength to conceive when she was past the age.” Her womb had expired. If you can believe, you can give birth to the promise too!  Sarah considered God to be faithful, even though her physical body was barren.  Her faith brought about a promise. I believe God is looking for someone today that will consider Him faithful.  God is looking for faith on the earth today- Let’s make sure He finds it in us!

Everywhere you look today there are disasters taking place.  The earth is groaning for Christ’s return and we need to be people of faith who don’t just survive, but we overcome!  We need the faith of God to see the impossible made possible in our lives.  The same spirit that raised Christ from the dead, lives on the inside of you and me!

I want to stir up that faith that’s already on the inside of you! Faith to believe again! Faith to believe that God Can Do It & He Will Do It! No matter what it is! Nothing is impossible for our God!

Why do we pull back from the promises of God? It’s easy to fall into doubt. Sarah laughed at God when God told her she would have a child.  She laughed the laugh of doubt & unbelief. (Genesis 18:11-15)  Sometimes we do the same thing.  We laugh at God, just a little scoff to say, as if, God you can change my situation.  Doubt & unbelif will stop the promises of God from coming to pass in your life. No matter how long it takes, we have to believe that God is faithful.  We serve a miracle working God and nothing is impossible for Him!

God told Sarah at the “Appointed Time” she would conceive a child.  At times we incorreclty assume a “due date,” when we think things should happen in our lives.  When that due date passes and things don’t happen when we think they should, we get discouraged and frustrated at God.  We give God a due date instead of waiting for His Apponted Time!  Our job is to simply beleive.  Even Sarah tried to make things happen in her own time.  She decided to give her maid, Hagar, to Abraham to conceive a child and that plan back fired.  Sarah was 90 years old when she finally conceived the promise! God was faithful to do what He said he would do.  Don’t ever give up.  God has an appointed time for everything in your life.  When things don’t go our way we have a choice:

1)  We can get bitter & laugh the laugh of doubt and unbelief, and abort the promises of God. OR…

2)  We can believe God, no matter how long it takes.  We can choose to say the promises of God are, Yes & Amen!  We can adjust our due date to His Appointed Time.  Most of the time things won’t happen when or how we think they should, but if we will believe, there is no situation God can’t turn around!

If you have past due dreams, past due promises, Judge Him who has promised faithful.

You can release FAITH on the inside by:

1) Praying- Philippians 4:6-7 says, ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

 2) Saying- Begin to speak the Word.  Stop comaplining and speaking the problem. Say what the Bible says about your situation.  Speak scriptures that relate to your situation out loud over yourself, every day! Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

3) Doing what you believe. Faith casues you to enter into the rest of God (Hebrews. 4).

I love Habakkuk 1:5, “Look among the Nations and watch, I will work a work in your day that will astound you.”

God wants to astound you! Whatever it is that you are believing for … don’t stop. Don’t lose heart or begin to doubt God. He is faithful and He will bring it to pass. Remember He has an appointed time.  His promises never expire, even if the food in our fridg does….

By the way, you should go clean out your fridg after reading this post.  You will be surprised at what you will find.  Please leave a comment if this helped you today 🙂

  1. This is a wonderful post! So encouraging to hear how on-fire you are for the Lord, keep writing in this way, I know you will inspire and encourage many people. What a great analogy, God’s promises will never expire and He will always have open arms for us 🙂

  2. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. I was preparing a sermon for Easter service and came upon your post. It was the inspiration I needed. Ironically my sermon was the same title before I ever read your post. Thank God for confirmation. May the Lord bless you and keep you and make his face to shine upon you. Keep letting him use you. And I’m going to clean out my frig right now lol
